Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fufang Duzhong Jiangu Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound formulation primarily utilized for the treatment of joint symptoms associated with Kashin-Beck disease (KBD) and other osteoarthritic conditions. The formula is centered around *Eucommia ulmoides* (Duzhong), a herb traditionally recognized for its ability to tonify the liver and kidneys and strengthen bones and tendons. In clinical practice, these granules are used to alleviate joint pain, improve joint dysfunction, and enhance the quality of life for patients suffering from chronic osteoarthropathy. The therapeutic effects are attributed to the synergistic action of its herbal components, which are believed to exert anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and chondroprotective properties. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials, such as those sponsored by Xi'an Jiaotong University, to identify effective and well-tolerated oral treatment regimens for KBD.
