Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fufang Xuanju Jiaonang is a proprietary traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal compound capsule developed by Strong Pharmaceutical Group. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of late-onset hypogonadism (LOH), erectile dysfunction, and oligoasthenospermia. The formulation is based on TCM principles of nourishing kidney-yang and contains extracts from *Polyrhachis vicina* (black ant), *Epimedium brevicornu* (horny goat weed), *Lycium barbarum* (wolfberry), and *Cuscuta chinensis* (dodder seed). Its pharmacological activity is largely attributed to icariin, a flavonoid glycoside derived from Epimedium that acts as a phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitor, similar to the mechanism of sildenafil. It is used both as a monotherapy and in combination with conventional PDE5 inhibitors to improve male reproductive health and sexual function.
