Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fufang Yinhua Jiedu (复方银花解毒颗粒) is a traditional Chinese medicine compound granule formulation developed from the classical formula "Yinqiao San." It is indicated for the treatment of wind-heat type common cold and influenza, with symptoms such as fever, mild aversion to wind, headache, nasal congestion and discharge, cough, sore throat, generalized aches and pains. The product acts by dispersing wind-heat from the exterior and clearing heat-toxins. Pharmacological studies suggest it may exert antiviral effects through multiple targets including angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA), nitric oxide synthase 3 (NOS3), myeloperoxidase (MPO), and tumor necrosis factor (TNF). Clinical trials have shown efficacy comparable to oseltamivir in treating influenza of the wind-heat type[1][3][4]. It has also been studied for adjunctive use in COVID-19 management[1].
