Overview
Fufangkushen Ningjiao is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) gel formulation developed by Guiyang Xintian Pharmaceutical for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis and other gynecological inflammations. It primarily contains extracts from Sophora flavescens (Kushen) and Sanguisorba officinalis (Di Yu). The mechanism of action involves the antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties of alkaloids like matrine and oxymatrine, which inhibit the growth of pathogens such as Gardnerella vaginalis and Trichomonas vaginalis while helping to restore the vaginal microecosystem. It is applied topically (intravaginally) and is approved in China for various forms of vaginitis and cervicitis.
