Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of fulvestrant, a selective estrogen receptor downregulator (SERD), and gefitinib, an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitor. This combination targets both estrogen receptor (ER) signaling and EGFR pathways simultaneously, exploiting the cross-talk between these pathways. Preclinical studies have shown enhanced antitumor effects compared to either drug alone, particularly in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells with acquired resistance to gefitinib.
