Overview
**Fulvning Granules** is a regulated Traditional Chinese Medicine hospital preparation developed at Longhua Hospital, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is an orally administered multicomponent herbal preparation used as an adjunct to guideline-directed conventional treatment for symptomatic atrial fibrillation, particularly in Traditional Chinese Medicine patterns involving qi and yin deficiency. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 136 symptomatic atrial-fibrillation patients treated for 4 weeks, Fulvning Granules improved Holter-defined atrial-fibrillation control and reduced palpitation frequency and duration versus placebo. Untargeted metabolomics associated treatment with changes in ketone-body, butanoate, and glycerophospholipid metabolic pathways; however, no validated discrete molecular drug target has been established.
