Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fungi-Nail Nailner is a topical treatment for onychomycosis (nail fungus) that combines the branding of Fungi-Nail with the proprietary Nailner formulation. Developed by Arcadia Consumer Healthcare (utilizing technology originally from YouMedical), the product functions as a nail restorer and antifungal treatment. Its primary mechanism of action is the acidification of the nail plate; ingredients such as lactic acid and ethyl lactate penetrate deep into the nail to lower the pH level. This creates an environment that is hostile to the growth of dermatophytes, the primary cause of nail infections. Additionally, the formulation often includes ingredients to improve the aesthetic appearance of the nail, such as brightening agents, while providing a breathable barrier. In many regions, including the European Union, it is classified as a medical device due to its physical-chemical mode of action rather than a pharmacological one.
