Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fungofort is a topical antifungal cutaneous spray solution containing fluconazole, a triazole-class small molecule. It is indicated for the treatment of dermatomycoses caused by dermatophytes or yeasts, including tinea pedis (athlete's foot), tinea manuum, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea versicolor, erythrasma, and Candida skin infections. Fungofort works by inhibiting the fungal enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase (CYP51), which is critical for ergosterol biosynthesis in fungal cell membranes. Developed by Nassington and manufactured by Cana Laboratories, Fungofort is registered and available in Greece as 0.5% and 1.0% w/v formulations for once-daily topical application.
