futuximab

Futuximab is a chimeric monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of cancer. It targets the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR, also known as HER1) by binding to an epitope in its extracellular domain, including both wild-type EGFR and mutant forms such as EGFRvIII. Upon binding, futuximab induces internalization and degradation of EGFR, thereby blocking downstream signaling pathways that drive tumor cell proliferation. Additionally, it can activate immune responses against tumor cells by recruiting natural killer cells and other immune effectors. Futuximab has been investigated primarily for colorectal cancer (with phase III trials), glioma (phase II), non-small-cell lung carcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck[1][3][5][6][7].
