Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fuyang Jiedu Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. It is specifically designed to treat immune reconstitution failure (IRF) in people living with HIV who exhibit "spleen-kidney yang deficiency syndrome" according to TCM principles. The granules are used as an adjunctive therapy alongside antiretroviral therapy (ART) to improve CD4+ T-cell counts and restore immune homeostasis. The formulation aims to enhance thymic output, modulate T-cell activation and Treg proportions, and reduce chronic inflammation. It is currently being evaluated in pragmatic randomized controlled trials to determine its efficacy in improving immune reconstitution response rates and overall quality of life in HIV-infected adults.
