Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fuzheng 2 is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Guang'anmen Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. It is primarily investigated for its potential to aid in immune reconstitution among HIV/AIDS patients who are receiving Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART). The formula is designed based on the TCM principle of 'Fuzheng,' which focuses on strengthening the body's vital energy (Qi) and immune resistance. In clinical studies, Fuzheng 2 is evaluated for its ability to increase CD4+ T-cell counts and improve immune function in patients who have achieved viral suppression but remain immunological non-responders. It is typically administered as an oral granule or decoction.
