Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fuzheng Tongge formula is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) decoction developed by the China-Japan Friendship Hospital. It is primarily investigated as a neoadjuvant therapy in combination with PD-1 monoclonal antibodies and chemotherapy for the treatment of locally advanced, long-lesion esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The formula is designed to modulate the tumor microenvironment, specifically targeting the balance of TCF-1+ and TCF-1- CD8+ T cells. Research suggests that patients with a low TCF-1+/TCF-1- ratio among CD8+ T cells in the tumor microenvironment may derive particular benefit from the addition of this herbal formula to standard immunotherapy regimens, potentially enhancing the anti-tumor immune response and improving pathological complete response rates.
