Overview
Fuzheng Xiaoliu Decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) multi-herbal formulation used primarily as an adjunct therapy in cancer treatment. It is composed of several herbs commonly including Atractylodes macrocephala (Baizhu), Astragalus mongholicus (Huangqi), Smilax glabra (Fuling), Scleromitrion diffusum (Bai Hua She She Cao), Curcuma aromatica (Ezhu), Codonopsis pilosula (Dangshen), and Glycyrrhiza glabra (Gancao)[4][7]. The formula aims to "strengthen healthy qi" and eliminate pathogenic factors according to TCM theory. Modern pharmacological studies suggest it may exert anti-tumor effects by modulating immune function, reducing tumor markers, improving quality of life in cancer patients, and potentially acting on multiple molecular targets such as the Akt-mTOR pathway[2][7]. It has been studied for use in hepatocellular carcinoma and other cancers as an adjunct to chemotherapy or supportive care[2][7].
