Fuzhenghuayu + Huangqi Decoction is a combination of two traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulas used primarily for the treatment of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. Fuzheng Huayu (FZHY) is a SFDA-approved antifibrotic herbal formula in China, composed of six herbs including Radix Salvia Miltiorrhizae, Cordyceps, Semen Persicae, Gynostemma Pentaphyllum, Pollen Pini, and Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis[1][2][5]. It acts by promoting blood flow, dissolving blood stasis, nourishing the liver, inhibiting hepatic stellate cell activation, protecting hepatocytes from injury and apoptosis, regulating macrophage polarization/chemotaxis (notably via CCL2 and CX3CL1), and reducing extracellular matrix deposition[2][3].
