Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fuzhengkangai granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Hubei Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of HIV infection and AIDS. Based on the TCM principle of 'Fuzheng' (strengthening the body's resistance), the granule is composed of several medicinal herbs, including *Astragalus membranaceus* and *Panax ginseng*, which are intended to modulate the immune system. The primary therapeutic goal is to increase or stabilize CD4+ T-lymphocyte counts and improve the quality of life for patients, often as an adjunct to highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART). It is utilized within the Chinese medical system as a hospital preparation and has been the subject of various clinical trials evaluating its efficacy in immune reconstitution.
