Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fuzhengqinghua is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Developed based on the TCM principles of "Fuzheng" (strengthening the body's resistance) and "Qinghua" (clearing heat and resolving dampness), the formula typically comprises several herbal components, including *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi) and *Rheum officinale* (Dahuang). Its therapeutic mechanism involves the inhibition of the TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway, which plays a critical role in reducing renal interstitial fibrosis and inflammation. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Fuzhengqinghua can effectively reduce proteinuria, protect podocytes, and slow the decline of the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in patients with stage 3-4 chronic renal failure.
