Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fuzi Guizhi Decoction granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation being investigated as an adjunctive treatment for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Developed by The Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the decoction is specifically targeted at patients exhibiting the TCM pattern of kidney deficiency and cold coagulation. The formula is a combination of several botanical ingredients, most notably *Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata* (Fuzi) and *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guizhi), which are traditionally used to warm the yang and dispel cold. In clinical trials, it is administered in granule form alongside standard disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) therapy, such as methotrexate and folic acid, to evaluate its efficacy in reducing disease activity (DAS28 scores), alleviating joint pain, and improving the quality of life in RA patients.
