Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fuzi Guizhi Tang (附子桂枝汤), also known as Guizhi Fuzi Tang or Cinnamon Twig and Aconite Decoction, is a traditional Chinese herbal formula. It is a modification of the classic Gui Zhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) with the addition of Fu Zi (Aconite). The main ingredients are Ramulus Cinnamomi (Gui Zhi), Radix Paeoniae Alba (Bai Shao), Rhizoma Zingiberis Recens (Sheng Jiang), Fructus Zizyphi Jujubae (Da Zao), and Radix Aconiti Lateralis Praeparata (Fu Zi)[1][4]. This formula is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat patterns involving deficiency of Yang Qi with symptoms such as aversion to cold, sweating without fever, cold limbs, joint pain or stiffness due to wind-cold invasion. The mechanism of action involves warming Yang Qi, dispelling cold from the exterior and interior, harmonizing Ying and Wei Qi levels in the body[1][4].
