Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fuzi Lizhong Decoction is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula traditionally used to warm the middle jiao, dispel cold, and strengthen the spleen and stomach. The formula typically consists of five botanical ingredients: *Aconitum carmichaelii* (Fuzi), *Panax ginseng* (Renshen) or *Codonopsis pilosula* (Dangshen), *Atractylodes macrocephala* (Baizhu), *Zingiber officinale* (Ganjiang), and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (Gancao). In modern clinical research, specifically at the Shanghai Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is being investigated as an adjunctive therapy to standard inhaled corticosteroids and long-acting beta-agonists (budesonide/formoterol) for the treatment of chest tightness variant asthma (CTVA) in children. The study aims to evaluate its impact on lung function, airway inflammation (via FeNO levels), and TCM syndrome patterns, particularly in patients exhibiting Spleen-Yang deficiency.
