FX-8464 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor developed by Felicitex Therapeutics for the treatment of ovarian cancer. The drug is part of a specialized pipeline focused on targeting cancer cell quiescence—a state where cancer cells exit the active cell cycle and enter a dormant G0 phase. These quiescent cells are notoriously resistant to conventional therapies like chemotherapy and radiation, which primarily target rapidly dividing cells, and are a major driver of cancer recurrence and metastasis. FX-8464 is designed to inhibit kinases such as Dual-specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation-regulated kinase 1A (DYRK1A) that maintain this dormant state, thereby sensitizing the cells to treatment or directly inducing apoptosis in the quiescent population.
