Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FX-8553 is a preclinical small molecule inhibitor developed by Felicitex Therapeutics for the treatment of glioblastoma. The drug is designed to target quiescent (G0) cancer cells, which are typically resistant to standard therapies like chemotherapy and radiation. By inhibiting kinases that maintain these cells in a dormant state—specifically members of the DYRK (Dual-specificity tyrosine-phosphorylation-regulated kinase) family such as DYRK1A—FX-8553 aims to sensitize the tumor to treatment and reduce the likelihood of recurrence. It is currently being evaluated in preclinical models of glioblastoma multiforme.
