Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FX007 is an investigational, locally administered small‑molecule nerve growth factor receptor (TrkA) antagonist formulated in a biodegradable PLGA microsphere system for sustained intra-articular delivery to treat pain. Developed originally by AstraZeneca and subsequently by Flexion Therapeutics, the drug was evaluated for post‑operative and osteoarthritis-related pain, aiming to provide prolonged local analgesia by inhibiting TrkA-mediated nociceptive signaling while minimizing systemic exposure. Development has been discontinued after early- to mid‑stage clinical studies.
