FX125L is an orally available, first-in-class small‑molecule broad-spectrum chemokine inhibitor (BSCI) developed by Funxional Therapeutics, based on chemistry work at the University of Cambridge and the University of Warwick, for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as asthma, COPD, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis.[1][2][5][6][8][12][13][14] It is a 3‑acylaminolactam “somatotaxin” that selectively interacts with a somatostatin receptor–related target to inhibit chemokine-driven inflammatory cell migration, thereby broadly attenuating chemokine-mediated inflammation.[1][2][6][11][13][14] FX125L has been dosed once daily by the oral route in Phase 1 and Phase 2 studies, showing linear pharmacokinetics, good tolerability and a wide safety margin across a broad dose range, and was acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim together with the somatotaxin portfolio for further development in a range of chronic inflammatory indications.[1][2][5][6][8][13][14]
