Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FXI-siRNA refers to small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutics designed to target and silence the expression of coagulation factor XI (FXI) mRNA, primarily in hepatocytes. By reducing circulating FXI protein levels, these agents inhibit the intrinsic pathway of the coagulation cascade, offering a potential anticoagulant and antithrombotic therapy with a reduced risk of bleeding compared to traditional anticoagulants. Several candidates are in development by various sponsors, including Vortosiran (RBD4059) by Suzhou Ribo Life Science, SRSD107 by Sirius Therapeutics, and CITY-FXI by City Therapeutics, alongside academic research evaluating its use in medical device anticoagulation.
