FXR0906 is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic candidate developed by Fosun Pharma for the treatment of hypertriglyceridemia. It is designed to target and silence the mRNA encoding angiopoietin-like 3 (ANGPTL3), a protein primarily expressed in the liver that acts as an inhibitor of lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and endothelial lipase (EL). By reducing ANGPTL3 levels, FXR0906 enhances the activity of these lipases, facilitating the breakdown and clearance of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins from the bloodstream. Administered via subcutaneous injection, FXR0906 aims to provide a long-acting reduction in plasma triglycerides and potentially other lipids like LDL-cholesterol. It is currently in Phase I clinical development to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamic profile in healthy volunteers and patients with elevated triglycerides.
