Overview

FXS5626 is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of receptor-interacting protein kinase 1 (RIPK1), developed by Aiconno Pharmaceutical. RIPK1 is a critical signaling protein that regulates necroptosis (programmed necrotic cell death) and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. By inhibiting RIPK1 activity, FXS5626 aims to suppress pathological inflammatory responses and prevent tissue damage associated with autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. The drug is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of non-infectious uveitis (NIU), a group of inflammatory eye diseases that can lead to permanent vision loss if left untreated. FXS5626 is designed for oral administration and represents a novel approach to managing ocular inflammation by targeting the necroptotic pathway.
