Overview

FZ202 is a preclinical-stage oral biologic developed by Fzata for the treatment of Graft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD). It is based on the company's proprietary BioPYM (Bio-engineered Probiotic Yeast Modality) platform, which utilizes the probiotic yeast *Saccharomyces boulardii* as a delivery vehicle. The yeast is engineered to secrete therapeutic proteins, specifically targeting Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukins, directly within the gastrointestinal tract. This localized delivery approach is intended to provide potent anti-inflammatory effects at the site of GVHD-related intestinal damage while minimizing the systemic immunosuppression and toxicity typically associated with parenteral TNF-alpha inhibitors.
