G-012

G-012 (also known as GGN-012) is a recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) candidate that was under development for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency. Developed by GtreeBNT (now HLB Therapeutics), the drug was designed to supplement or replace endogenous growth hormone in patients with inadequate secretion. Growth hormone acts by binding to the growth hormone receptor, which triggers the JAK2-STAT signaling pathway, leading to the production of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and promoting linear growth, protein synthesis, and metabolic regulation. While GtreeBNT initially pursued the development of G-012 as part of its biologics pipeline, the company's strategic focus shifted toward other candidates such as RGN-259 for dry eye syndrome and OKN-007 for glioblastoma, leading to the discontinuation of the G-012 program.
