G-CSF + darbepoetin is a combination therapy consisting of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and darbepoetin (darbepoetin alfa). G-CSF is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates the production and function of neutrophils, while darbepoetin is an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent that promotes red blood cell production by acting as an agonist at the erythropoietin receptor. This combination has been investigated for its synergistic effects in various clinical settings, including decompensated cirrhosis—where it improved survival and reduced liver severity scores—and in mobilizing proangiogenic cells after acute myocardial infarction. It is also used or studied in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and other conditions associated with anemia or cytopenias[1][2][3][6][8].
