Drug intelligence / Profile preview
G-CSF + GM-CSF is a combination of two hematopoietic growth factors that stimulate the production and function of white blood cells. G-CSF primarily stimulates neutrophil production and release from bone marrow, while GM-CSF affects multiple cell lineages including granulocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. The combination has been investigated for various applications including: - Mobilization of peripheral blood progenitor cells (PBPCs) for collection by leukapheresis - Accelerating hematopoietic recovery after high-dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation - Enhancing immune responses in cancer immunotherapy - Improving antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) in treatments like dinutuximab for neuroblastoma Studies have shown that sequential or combined administration of these cytokines may provide superior mobilization of hematopoietic progenitor cells compared to either agent alone.
