g-csf-mobilized autologous cd34+ cells refers to a cell therapy product consisting of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) harvested from a patient's own peripheral blood following mobilization from the bone marrow using granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). The cells are typically isolated using apheresis and CD34+ selection. This therapy is primarily investigated for the treatment of severe ischemic conditions, such as critical limb ischemia (CLI) and peripheral arterial disease (PAD), particularly in patients who have failed or are ineligible for standard surgical or endovascular revascularization. Once injected intramuscularly into the ischemic limb, these CD34+ cells promote therapeutic angiogenesis and vasculogenesis by differentiating into endothelial cells and secreting paracrine factors like vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF), thereby improving microcirculation and tissue perfusion. In Japan, this modality has been developed commercially as CLBS12 (honopuldencel) and has received SAKIGAKE designation for CLI.
