Overview

G-CSF mobilized HLA-haploidentical donor peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) are hematopoietic stem cells collected from a related donor who shares only one HLA haplotype with the recipient (haploidentical), after the donor has been treated with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). G-CSF is administered to healthy donors to stimulate the release of hematopoietic progenitor and immune cells from bone marrow into the bloodstream. These mobilized PBSCs are then collected via apheresis and used for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), particularly in patients lacking fully matched donors. The mechanism involves reconstituting the recipient’s hematopoiesis and immune system following myeloablative or nonmyeloablative conditioning regimens. This approach is commonly used in treating acute leukemia and other hematologic malignancies[1][2][3][4].
