G-EpCAM refers to anti-EpCAM antibody-mediated glass-based compositions used within an extracorporeal 3D-printed microchannel device. Developed by Actorius Innovations and Research, this technology is designed to capture and eliminate circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from the blood of patients with epithelial-origin cancers, such as breast, lung, colorectal, and head and neck cancers. The device utilizes spiral microchannels to optimize hemodynamic flow, allowing the anti-EpCAM coated glass beads to specifically bind and remove CTCs while minimizing hemolysis and non-specific interactions with other blood cells. This approach aims to reduce metastatic progression and improve overall survival by decreasing the systemic burden of CTCs.
