Drug intelligence / Profile preview
G.D Probiotic Toothpaste is a probiotic-based oral care formulation containing bacteriocin-producing Lactic Acid Bacteria. Developed and studied by researchers at Peoples University, Bhanpur, Bhopal, it is specifically designed to reduce the levels of *Streptococcus mutans* in dental plaque, particularly in patients undergoing orthodontic treatment. The probiotic works through competitive inhibition, adhering to oral tissues to prevent the colonization of cariogenic bacteria and the subsequent formation of white spot lesions and dental caries. By improving the oral microflora and reducing plaque acidity around orthodontic brackets, the toothpaste aims to prevent enamel demineralization.
