G01

G01 is a small molecule Rho-associated protein kinase (ROCK) inhibitor being developed by Wanming Saibo for the treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and glaucomatous optic neuropathy. Unlike traditional glaucoma therapies that primarily focus on lowering intraocular pressure (IOP) by increasing aqueous humor outflow, G01 is specifically designed as a neuroprotective agent. Its primary mechanism involves the protection of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) from apoptosis and the promotion of axonal regeneration, addressing the underlying neurodegeneration that leads to vision loss in glaucoma patients. Formulated as an ophthalmic solution, G01 aims to provide a disease-modifying treatment option, particularly for patients who continue to experience disease progression despite controlled IOP. It is currently undergoing Phase 1/2 clinical evaluation in China.
