G250 peptide is a synthetic therapeutic peptide vaccine developed by the University of Chicago, designed as an immunostimulant for cancer immunotherapy. It is derived from the renal cell carcinoma (RCC)-associated antigen G250, also known as carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX). The G250 peptide contains epitopes that can be recognized by both CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, making it a potential target for inducing anti-tumor immune responses in patients with cancers expressing this antigen, particularly renal cell carcinoma. The mechanism of action involves stimulating the immune system to recognize and attack tumor cells expressing the G250/CAIX antigen[1][3][5]. Clinical development reached phase 2 trials in several indications but was discontinued.
