G250 peptide vaccine + interleukin-2 is an investigational combination immunotherapy regimen evaluated for the treatment of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). The regimen consists of a peptide vaccine targeting the G250 antigen (also known as Carbonic Anhydrase IX or CAIX), which is overexpressed in the majority of clear cell renal cell carcinomas, and interleukin-2 (IL-2), a cytokine that acts as an immune adjuvant. IL-2 stimulates the expansion and activation of T-lymphocytes and natural killer (NK) cells, thereby enhancing the specific immune response generated by the G250 vaccine against tumor cells. This combination was notably studied by the University of Chicago in a Phase II pilot trial focusing on patients with resected locally advanced or metastatic RCC to assess immunogenicity and clinical outcomes across different dose levels of IL-2.
