Overview
**G3-C12-CAP** is an experimental kidney-targeted peptide-drug conjugate comprising the renal-homing peptide G3-C12, with sequence ANTPCGPYTHDCPVKR, linked to the angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor captopril through a glutathione-cleavable disulfide bond. Following intravenous administration in mice, the G3-C12 carrier preferentially accumulated in proximal renal tubule cells, increasing renal exposure to captopril and rapidly releasing free captopril in the kidney. The released captopril produced enhanced intrarenal angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibition, supporting investigation of this conjugate as a targeted approach for chronic kidney disease.
