G9-280 is a synthetic peptide derived from the melanocytic lineage-specific antigen gp100. It is designed to bind to HLA-A2 molecules on antigen-presenting cells, thereby stimulating specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) in HLA-A2+ melanoma patients. This mechanism aims to induce a measurable antitumor immune response against gp100-expressing melanoma cells. A modified version, G9-280-9V, has been developed to enhance its binding affinity to HLA-A2.
