Ga-68 Galmydar is a radiopharmaceutical PET imaging tracer labeled with gallium-68, designed for noninvasive detection and assessment of myocardial injury, particularly chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity. It localizes to the mitochondria of heart cells, enabling sensitive molecular imaging of mitochondrial function and early metabolic changes in the myocardium. Ga-68 Galmydar has been evaluated preclinically for detecting doxorubicin-induced cardiomyopathy and is under clinical investigation for myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI), including quantification of myocardial blood flow in patients with suspected or known coronary artery disease. The agent demonstrates rapid blood clearance, stable retention in myocardium, favorable dosimetry, and metabolic stability[1][3][5][8].
