Ga-68-IAC is a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical imaging agent consisting of the positron-emitting radioisotope Gallium-68 (Ga-68) conjugated to a peptidomimetic integrin antagonist (IAC). The IAC moiety is a linear peptidomimetic designed to target the integrin alpha-V beta-3 (αvβ3) receptor, a cell surface protein that is significantly overexpressed in various tumor cells and in the neovasculature during angiogenesis. By binding to these receptors, Ga-68-IAC enables the visualization and staging of angiogenic tumors, such as metastatic breast cancer and lung cancer (including NSCLC and SCLC), using Positron Emission Tomography (PET/CT). The agent is characterized by rapid blood clearance, stability, and favorable biodistribution, providing high-contrast images of metastatic lesions.
