Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Gabalyf Gel is a topical analgesic formulation developed by Lyf Healthcare for the management of musculoskeletal pain. It is a triple-combination product containing gabapentin, lidocaine hydrochloride, and baclofen. Lidocaine acts as a local anesthetic by blocking sodium channels to prevent pain signal transmission. Gabapentin targets the alpha2delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels to modulate neuronal excitability, while baclofen serves as a GABAB receptor agonist to provide muscle relaxation. Although primarily known for their systemic effects, this topical formulation is designed for localized pain relief with reduced systemic absorption. It is currently approved and marketed in India.
