Gabamax

Gabamax is an approved anticonvulsant and neuropathic pain medication developed and marketed by Omnica Laboratories, a WHO-GMP certified pharmaceutical company based in Nepal. The active ingredient is gabapentin, a small molecule drug. Gabamax is indicated for the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia and as adjuvant therapy for partial onset seizures in patients with epilepsy, with or without secondary generalization. Its mechanism of action involves binding to the α2δ-1 (alpha-2-delta-1) subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels located at the axon terminals of neurons. By binding to this target, gabapentin decreases the release of excitatory neurotransmitters such as glutamate, Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP), and substance P, thereby modulating neuronal excitability and pain transmission. It is available in oral capsule formulations of 100 mg and 300 mg strengths.
