Overview

Gadofluorine M is a **gadolinium-based contrast agent** developed for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) applications. It is a novel contrast agent with unique properties that allow for **intracellular accumulation without requiring an uptake mediator**, providing T1-positive MRI signal enhancement. The agent contains fluorine substituents that enhance its imaging properties and cellular uptake characteristics. Initially developed by **Bayer AG**, Gadofluorine M has been investigated for various imaging applications including **cell tracking**, **extracellular matrix synthesis mapping**, and **diagnostic imaging** in conditions such as diabetes and stem cell tracking. Its ability to accumulate intracellularly makes it particularly suitable for applications where conventional gadolinium-based contrast agents may be limited by background signals from blood or other tissues.
