Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GAGbodies are a novel class of biologic drugs developed by Antagonis. They are designed to selectively protect glycans (complex carbohydrates on cell surfaces) from participating in chemokine-mediated processes. By targeting and shielding specific glycans, GAGbodies modulate interactions between chemokines and their glycan ligands, potentially altering immune cell trafficking or inflammatory responses. This approach represents a new modality for intervening in diseases where glycan-chemokine interactions play a pathogenic role[8].
