GAI-122

**GAI-122** is an investigational injectable nanoemulsion formulation of a mitochondria-targeted neuroprotective and antioxidant agent developed using AlphaRx's proprietary nano drug delivery technology. It demonstrated significant efficacy in preclinical models by reducing liver enzyme ALT levels by up to 90% in acute hepatitis and drug-induced liver injury, ameliorating learning and memory disturbances in post-anesthesia and cerebral ischemia models, and providing neuroprotection against stroke-induced injury. Originally developed by AlphaRx and licensed to Gaia BioPharma in 2008 for further advancement, including planned Phase I/II trials for stroke in China and postoperative delirium prevention in the USA, development appears to have stalled after preclinical stages with no recent clinical progress reported.[1][2][3][5]
