Overview

GAL201 is an adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapy being developed by Galibra Neuroscience for the treatment of GABA-A variants-related disorders. The therapy is designed to deliver or modulate GABA-A receptor subunit genes to correct pathogenic variants or restore normal receptor function. GABA-A receptors are ligand-gated ion channels that mediate inhibitory neurotransmission in the central nervous system; mutations in the genes encoding these subunits are associated with various neurological conditions, including epilepsy and developmental delays. GAL201 is currently in the discovery stage, specifically undergoing construct validation to ensure effective gene delivery and expression.
