Overview
Galactose microbubbles are ultrasound contrast agents composed primarily of a shell made from galactose (99.9%) and stabilized with palmitic acid. These gas-filled microbubbles are administered intravenously and circulate through the bloodstream, enhancing Doppler signals in blood vessels for diagnostic imaging applications such as echocardiography and myocardial perfusion imaging.
