Overview
Galculus bovis + metronidazole (commonly known as Galculus Bovis and Metronidazole Capsules) is an approved fixed-dose combination drug product developed and manufactured by companies including Shenyang Hongqi Pharmaceutical. It contains metronidazole, a synthetic nitroimidazole antimicrobial agent effective against anaerobic bacteria, and calculus bovis factitius (artificial bezoar), a traditional Chinese medicine component known for its anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and detoxifying properties. The combination is widely approved in China for the treatment of oral and dental infections, such as acute pericoronitis (wisdom tooth inflammation), local alveolar abscess, pulpitis, and periapical periodontitis. It is administered orally, typically as capsules.
