Galinpepimut-S (GPS) is a multi-peptide cancer vaccine targeting the Wilms Tumor 1 (WT1) protein, which is highly expressed in various hematological and solid malignancies. This specific regimen combines GPS with Montanide ISA 51 (an oil-based adjuvant) and Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF, specifically sargramostim) to enhance the recruitment and activation of antigen-presenting cells, thereby boosting the T-cell mediated immune response against WT1-expressing cancer cells. Developed by SELLAS Life Sciences Group, it has been primarily investigated for the treatment of malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The vaccine consists of four peptide chains derived from the WT1 protein sequence, modified to improve immunogenicity and induce a robust CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell response.
